I am still serious about trying to cut back on my gaming. Outside a couple games I really want this upcoming year, and some DLC that will be coming out for games I already own, I am not planning on buying many new games the upcoming year, and what I do buy I am planning on buying only when there is a Steam sale going on.
I am going to stick mostly with Grand Strategy games, and turn based games. Games like Europa Universals IV, Crusader Kings 2, Civilization V, and the likes.
I am not a real Kate Perry fan but I have had this song stuck in my head on and off since Kate’s last performance on Saturday Night Live.
Since my posting on Saturday I made a few more purchases from Steam and Amazon during their extended Black Friday / Cyber Monday sales.
Since that time I picked up Rise of Venice and the complete Max Payne trilogy from Amazon, meanwhile over on Steam I picked up FORCED, Deadpool ($10, I have been wanting the game but didn’t want to pay over $10 for it, Poker Night and Poker Night 2, the Deluxe Upgrade DLC to Farcry and Tomb Raider DLC collection.
I was keeping an eye out for ROME II to go on sale to complete my Total War collection but I am not going to pick it up for a penny over $15 based on what I have read so far on it. So looks like it may be next years sale before I grab it.
Once again Steam and Amazon have proven to me that it is almost always a bad ideal to preorder or buy a game at full price when almost every game I wanted this year ended up going on 65% or more sale in less than a few months. Examples being Tomb Raider is normally priced for $50, on sale for 80% off at $10. So I am going to try my best next year, baring releases that I am really, really, really looking forward to I am going to do my best to hold off for at least 60% off sales.
